Clutch Problems- need parts

Hi Guys

Need help as i now cannot select any gears.

I suspect the clutch release cylinder as there appears to be fluid leaking from it. But think i will replace both this and the master cylinder while i am at it.

So the question is can i buy replacement units? If so, where from? Want to try and sort it this week if possible.

Series 2 Slave Unit:

Try the usual stockists, RX motors in Dorset, Jimmys in Norwich, WGT in Cheshire, Rotechniks in Berks.

Look for a seal kit as another DIY fix, easy to do but like all hydraulics must keep the internals of the job spotlessly clean; only clean and lubricate parts with brake fluid.

Could be a bit of a chase James, but parts are there somewhere.

PS I once saw S2 Slave advertised as different to S3 slave so watch how you go.

stay away from Jimmys unless you want to remortgage your house.
Your best bet is to get them from the US..... check out this thread for when I priced them up a couple of months back...

On US eBay link Zapparts auto have quoted me US$45 for 3-5 day delivery.

So about US$100 all up. Worth a go, considering it would cost me more than that for just the slave cylinder.

Will let you know how i get on.

In another place, Steve-A suggested (I think...) that repair kits are common with Mazda MX5'a (though replacement castings are not...)

Do I remember rightly Steve? If so, which MX5? and was that for an S2 RX7 or an S3?

An update on this for those who might need it.
I purchased a clutch master and slave cylinder via eBay from Zapparts Auto. Paid a bit extra for postage so it could be tracked online.
He was very helpful.
The US postal tracking was great, and it arrived from the mid US to London in 4days! It took 3 days for Royal mail to contact me via post that they had it and wanted monies , but paid online and received the next day.
So to sum up-
parts delivered from US cost US$106
customs and handling £25

Total £90 and just over a week. Better than suppliers here in UK.

It was suggested to me to try rockauto.com where they have parts at VERY low prices, next time

It was mk1 mx5's. The clutch slaves are basically the same but with different out castings, and there are lots of places doing seal kits for them. It may well be the case with master cylinders too.

Steve, do you know if anyone has anyone actually done this and repaired a fb slave with the MX5 seal kit.... it could save us some money but I've not heard of anyone physically doing it yet, just that we think it might work?
It'd be great if it does work though
