2 x series 1 cars breaking in Poole, Dorset

Post by ian65 »

2 x series 1 cars breaking in Dorset, one of them being the green s1 sold by RX Motors a few weeks back for £155.00

Sellers description:

Hello, many good parts available on these very rare Mazda's, the grey/black one is a rolling shell (although you can see the gear stick in the pictures the engine has since been removed) and the green 1 has a 12A rotary engine automatic. I have not tried to start it but turns over freely.

Both of the interiors are in fairly good condition in brown and red, and 2 tone brown

Both cars have alloys but will be sold with no tires as they are shot, there are probable a good set of 4 on the 2 cars the rest could do with some renovation

Most other parts are their on the cars in usable conditions

Mushy pea was a scrapper 1st time we saw it.
Can't vouch for the silver one as never saw any close up pics, but blowing up the engine for fun, less said the better.

Silver one now gonna be a banger racer with a ford x flow lump!

the 1st time we saw the green car, it was sold as a restoration project as Tim reckoned it was too good to scrap...

the buyer knew how bad it was as Tim, as always, was completely honest about it.... the plan was probably just to banger race them both from the start... and as for blowing up a rotary for a laugh and posting the video on an enthusiasts forum.... WTF?

I think that destroying the car was always his preferred option. We share our yard at work with some redneck banger racers who don't have half a brain cell in their heads between them. I see perfectly good cars coming in every day that can be reused or sold off in parts to help other enthusiasts(plus probably make more cash for themselves). But no, they are bell bent on destroying everything in their path. Just last week 2 mk2 hays and a mk3 zephyr got trashed. I was able to look these over before hand and there was nothing wrong with them.
Like I said if the rotor housings had been ok he could have sold them for a few quid then put his x flow in and then tried to kill himself in a controlled environment.
Nowt as strange as folk.

I find it odd when people buy rare or interesting cars to do things like banger racing with.

I know at some stage all cars will become 'a classic' to someone but there are so many 90s cars, that sold in hundreds of thousands, out there which can be bought for that £150 or less and would be faster and stronger to banger race. For example my dads old 1998 2.5 v6 mondeo, with a couple of weeks mot and a rusty sill and wheel arch and a few scrapes on the bumper only sold for £180 or so.

If you must kill cars for fun, why not leave the odd and interesting stuff for the enthusiasts and banger race the common as muck stuff, till it becomes rare and sought after.
