Hello Rx-7 Fan,

some wishes a thread from building up the Rx-7 Spirit R. My first Rx7 1981 in pearl white I sold after an accident on the Highway A8.
I startet in 1987 as a member of the "Rotary Drive Rx7 Club Europa". My Rx7 FB 1984 in dual colour silver/gunmetal should fitted with 7x15" 205/50/15 front and 225/50/15 rear. The engine I modified with the very good racing beat porting and exhaust. RWP should be 160 and the engine was completely chromed. Sorry the pic is original from 1985.
After the first restore in 1992 my Mark I Rx7 will be the best of the Rotary Drive Rx 7 Club Europa.
Members of the Rx 7 Owner Club Great Britain ask me and me Friend with the best car of the MarkII Rx 7 for coming to Haddenham in England, We both take the Convertible Turbo II and meet Jimmy living on a Horsefarm. The roll out bring us to the Duxford imperial war museum i think. I saw my first Elford Turbo and spell everytime with his kindly owner. Sorry hope you understand the Story

The next projekt should be the Rx-7 FB modified with the best part you can get for. Streetlegal with german TÜV.
First I built a Garage and a little house parking all my parts.

Did you prepare the bodyshell by hand or did you blast clean it?

Dr, Felix Wankel born in the town Lahr. Freddy from Fred´s Garage help me with my car. The garage stay on the black forest airport in Lahr. So my car was new born in Lahr 30min from my home. Fred told me blast cleaning cost a lot of money and good paint that works good for a long time on your bodyshell let it there it will work more for long time.
Cleaning by the hand is best but it´s a hard and dirty work so I must do it by myself.
inside the bodyshell I take first (4 weeks after painting)Fluid Film and second (4 weeks after Fluid Film)Mike Sander. Fred take a special spraying inside the wheel housing look at the pic it´s difficult to explain for me

modify the body before painting
close the hole from the Rx-7 embleme and open the hole for the BMW Z3 turnindicator

It need a lot of time to check the tire, wheel size and control all the clearance before painting the bodyshell.
The distance parts to afford more aircooling in the engine room.
I saw it on mariah style bodyparts
