Procedure:
Loosen the nut (14mm iirc)
Turn threaded rod/bolt/pin clockwise to tighten using blade screwdriver
Tighten the nut
Take it for a spin and see if it improves. I slackened mine right off when I had 215/50R13s on the fron and it was nice and easy to turn, even when stationary.

Double S will still make you a system for the FB, I had a quote from them a few months ago.

About the exhaust topic, I almost came to a conclusion. I see three options now among which I'm going to choose based on your suggestions and experience.
1. Repair: As I told before, the leak on my exhaust system is exactly at the point you indicated, which can't be repaired. However, it might be possible to rebuild that part (although I have no idea what is it's inside like), and simply swap the old duct with the rebuilt one. But as you did not mention this option earlier, this solution must be unfeasible for some reason I don't know yet.
2. Go to US version: Removing the old exhaust system with thermal reactor, air pump and everything else. Then buying a stock USA '84 header and building a similar system to which they built the cars to the US market. Of course the material should be stainless steel that tolerates the high exhaust gas temperatures of the engine.
3. Upgraded version: Pretty much the same as 2. version, but with an aftermarket header (for example Pacesetter header).
What do you think (as you guessed correctly before, I'm on low budget
)?

That Racing Beat header looks good. Then any knowledgeable exhaust specialist should be able to make the rest for you in stainless, like in the pics shown above.
There's nothing special about the RX7 system after the front section.
From memory (long time since I pulled one off), that front pipe, the one that fractures, has a ring of air holes inside, around the flange and somehow that side air pipe links in. Very complicated that part.......just sling it away.
Have a read at the threads on here describing how to drop off the air pump and the thermal reactor. A couple of blank plates are needed but you can make those easily.

Actually, I was thinking of a bit lower budget solution
The amount I'd have to pay for the RB header is roughly the amount I intend to spend on the whole system

Don't know George.
But it looks like they're mild steel, hence cheaper than stainless. That shouldn't hardly matter for the front part of the system?
