Just to let those who were at RR today know that I got home ok, sorry I had to leave early but I was worried about my over heating problem.
Hope you all got home safe and sound.

That is a relief,
glad you got back ok, the weather went Down Hill just after you left, good to meet & put a name to a Face, I think your Brother in Law was taken aback when he realised the the funny triangular thing was what was in our engines

glad you got home OK Dibs...... cooling issues are always worrying, especially when you're a long way from home...... an inlet gasket and the O rings are less than a tenner from a Mazda dealer... a job for the winter months.

That's a good result Dibs. Great to meet you and the other forum names that have actual faces. I met up with Lucky and Jo on the M25 and we convoyed from there. Really nice drive too and not too much of a hassle getting in to the venue.
It was a nice lineup of FB's at our little patch, with the museum piece Elford Turbo in it's own little parking bay next to the gazebo (which would become rather useful later on).
So we went for a little explore, I took all of one photo, Nik took a few more that, found some rather nice food and then it all went rather grey and we headed back to the cars all quickstep fashion to close sunroofs. And then it rained ... a lot
Refreshments on the way up

Here are some of my pics of our stand..... awesome to see so many 1st gens together again. Something which struck me was the condition of all of these cars.... just by looking at them you could see that they were enthusiast owned and each of us has put their own stamp on their cars...

Dereks stunning series 2 Elford Turbo...

Petes super clean series 3...

and an engine bay you could eat your dinner off...

and Dibs sunrise red S3..... probably the most original 1st gen in the country...

next up, a couple of wolves in sheeps clothing.....
my Elford turbo...

and Keiths weber equiped lovely S3...

then James black S3, a car that he's really putting his stamp on.....it's looking great mate!

and the tender blue S3 belonging to Jesse who's busy stockpiling parts.....looking forward to see this next year mate with all your new goodies on it...

After another long drive, Nik and Dave arrived in their mean machines....
this car of Niks is just mouthwatering....... awesome paintjob and colour and those back lights just look the dogs ********........ I wanted to get some pic from under the bonnet but sadly a biblical storm arrived before I could...

and Daves red TWR.... missed this car at the show last year after it spat out an apex seal but great to see it back on the road and the show circuit...

a couple more pics...
Pete's engine display...

and probably the saddest sight of the day... god knows how they must have felt coming back to this...
