Private Plates - you either like them or hate them and the content is down to individual choice and these days they don't have to be that costly.
Me, I like them and always wanted one from the age of 15.

It shouldn't really matter to us guys whether they come with an MOT or not. The main factor is the overall condition of the body which would determine the real value of the vehicle or whether it was justifible for saving. If we all looked at them with those type of eyes they'd soon disappear all together. No, if I had the money, didn't have to work and with a large enough warehouse, I'd try and save them all (hehehe) so that future generations could admire and drool over them.

depends whether you want to just jump in and drive it or restore it.... ....me, I enjoy working on cars but it's not for everyone. In my experience, most people will mot a car to sell it if it only needs a tyre or a wiper blade to realise the best price.... so if it's got no mot, it's a project and it's gonna need time and money throwing at it.

Well yeah I agree that if someone plans on getting one of these cars, then work will be needed to be done. But without an mot, I have no idea how much work will be needed on it aye. I would like one that is in reasonable condition too haha :)

Hobbawobba, if you check out some of the restoration threads on here and Ian's rust guide then you can get a good idea of what you are up against, and if you can view a car before bidding then you'll have a decent chance of knowing what you're getting yourself into. :)

Looks like you're pretty local to me so if you get one or goto look at one I can probably offer a second opinion :)

Yeah Ive been trying to get on here as much as possible to get idea of what it would take aye haha.. I doubt I would ever place a bid without seeing the car though :).
Ah sweet Steve, that would be awesome man, cheers. Do you realise that I'm Tom's mate that keeps going on about these cars? :D

I think I'd have the silver s2 over that one.... for a lot less money too.

What a great idea, call it a drift car and sell a non mot'd car that needs welding worth £200 for a "big one" g-l you will need it!
