they came with the wires and all electrics already fitted.... they are just basically plug and play

Ah yeah I thought that'd be the case. The guy I'm thinking about getting these off just says "the wires are in the doors". Not sure if he is trying to say my doors or his :? Making me wonder if the mirrors are actually electric or not aye...

Does anyone have some first hand information on why the US spec mirrors would not fit? I would have thought the adjustment was enough to remove and LHD / RHD issues?

I ask as it seems much easier to get parts from the US than from Aus.

I can't work out from that post if he could not see properly though the passenger mirror as he had not wired it up yet or if there was a physical difference in the parts. They seem to fit ok so maybe I will get a set from the us and see how it goes. It can't be too hard to adjust the glass angle with a shin of some sort if needed.
