Hi there

Post by Broadside63 »

Hi to all,
First post to introduce myself:
Currently restoring 1985 FB with large bridge ported 12a engine as car has stood for 19 years and needs TLC with the aim of having it on the road for the summer.
I used to race an RX3 back in the early 80's with the Duckham's road saloons. Then made a decision to abandon rotaries and go into Pre-74 FF1600 racing.
Now I'm nearly back to where I started, with a rotor motor.
Just finished a front brake upgrade and now have Renault clio cup discs and 4 pot brembo calipers. Rear calipers now rebuilt and ready to go on.
Happy to share picture should anyone want to see them.
Cheers.
Ally.

Snetterton a long time ago. When it had a 'proper' chicane.
Being followed by Dave Shead and Trevor Griffiths.

The RX3 looks great. Thanks for posting.

Do you know what happened to it?
What motor were you running and what mods did the car have?

My friend bought the car some time ago and he still has it today. I raced it with a 12a bridge port engine that I built years ago. Most of the rest of the car was standard, apart from front shock, springs and geometry.
My friend has now removed this engine and it now has a 13b with race peripheral port housings. ;) The car also has had the rear axle suspension modified with longer upper control arms. Cant wait to hear it run.
