Can't wait to get to the workshop tonight...

These have arrived, and I want to fit them, to finally place the wheels so I can start to position the arches properly

Complete lack of updates to this for a while...the project had stalled for a while, firstly because I wasn't sure what I was going to do as far as wheels and arches goes...and secondly I have been really busy with the detailing side of things...

I have decided to lose the spacers on the fronts, and fit a much slimmer arch (or cut down the ones I have, not sure yet) - the rears may also get the same treatment...I have fitted a rear wheel with the larger tyres, and they make such a difference. Can't get away with no arches at all, so I will try a cut down arch on the back end too...I will go with whatever looks best, but need to wait a few weeks now

In the meantime, I have made a start on cleaning up all the suspension parts and stuff, got the POR-15 out on one wheel arch last week, pretty impressive stuff Not done to the standards I see in some of the fantastic threads on here I'm afraid, but as it was an advisory on the last MOT, I feel the need to attempt to improve it
I'll do the other front and both the rears this weekend, and the underside of the car next weekend if I can...then it's MOT time, then I can, finally, start on the bodywork

Remind me what size wheels and tyres you are working towards?

Same size tyres, but on 7" rims with 8 offset - I was told they were -8, which would be fine on the back anyway...they sit 16mm further in than I had planned for

About time for another update...

Money is tighter than I had hoped for this year, which meant a full respray is definitely not on the cards. After putting the 205s onto the supra wheels, I was shocked at how much difference they made...and really filled the arches a lot better on the lowered springs...so much so, that in standard trim, the rears sat just outside the bodywork, and the fronts were too far out to be legal

So, I decided to fit the sideskirts, and then chose some much smaller arch lip extensions...they are a bit "stuck on" - as they are not large enough to cover the standard arch lip - but they have covered the tyres, and reduced the arch gap enough for me

After all the faffing around trying different colours on the wheels, I had to paint them all the same colour, or it would have looked a bit silly, so I chose some graphite, as I had some

anyways...here it is...sitting outside yesterday...brought home ready for the MOT today










Next up is to fit the S2 driver's door and paint it, along with the rear spoiler, and the arches (as they are not quite the same colour...damn rattle cans!)

That's an aggressive looking fb now Marc.... how has widening the track changed the handling..... more sure footed presumably?

Thanks mate, I have to admit, I am liking the overall look, just need to sort the finer details out now

As for handling, really not sure yet - I only drove it home from the workshop, dual carriageway most of the way, bit boring



Now it has a fresh MOT, I'll be able to take it for a bit of a drive

Yeah it is a good look, those wheels really suit the 7.

with those arch flares and the toyota wheels, the fb has got a hint of the 2.8 Supra about it....
I loved the 2.8 Supra back in the early 1980's.....

Nice one. The wheels look great like that. As you say the tyre size change makes a hell of a difference.
