I've just sent this to Mazda; a bit hasty as I have to rush out shortly,
"Hi
I received my invite to the above event this morning (thank you) but was surprised to see that, despite not requesting any test drives, I had to fill out a form with my Driving License number and state I was over 25 and lots of other questions. I did fill it out, reluctantly, but I’ve already received messages from two Mazda owners who are most unhappy.
The first refuses to fill out all the requested info on principle, as he (and I agree) don’t believe it’s necessary simply to attend the event. He won’t be now be coming.
The second owner is under 25 and has had to lie on the form to be able to submit it, as he’s under 25!
I’m hoping the requirement for this info was ONLY needed for those people requesting a test drive on the day and therefore it is a simple website coding error to request it from those not requiring a test drive.
I hope you can do something quickly to improve the situation."

Re: Mazda Fans Weekend, Mazda HQ (Dartford): Sat/Sun 20-21 M
I've just had a phone call to say the issue of irrelevant data and questions is being "sorted out"..................
I've already gone back onto the website and amended my license number to say "Not Applicable" in the box, which has been accepted. Perhaps, if I hadn't been in such a rush I should have done that the first time around
I suggest anyone who is not happy with the form as it stands should maybe wait until next week and try again, when the web form will, hopefully, have been "sorted"
Have a great Bank Holiday Weekend everyone

Yippee
OK folks, our feedback has worked (thx Dibs and anyone else that commented back to Mazda) - just got this back from Mazda UK:
"Just to let you know everything has been updated on the registration site so if No is selected for a test drive you will not be required to complete the licence details.
Apologies for this error.
Kind Regards
Sarah"
To be fair, it looks like an error by a company (AMCI?) that was subcontracted by Mazda to do the website form...

Re: Mazda Fans Weekend, Mazda HQ (Dartford): Sat/Sun 20-21 M
If anyone hasn't booked yet than we've arranged for Mazda to open up a few more slots for Sunday PM (the preferred "Rotary" session
)
If the Driver's License request come up then simply put in N/A (if you don't plan to do a test drive) and fill in today's date
- no need to give any further personal details than the essentials to get your invite.
Quite a few rotaries now booked for Sunday PM

I've decided not to register for the event as I won't have my car done. Didn't want to take up somebody else's slot who could make it! I'll be coming down with GT_James as a passenger instead
. Looking forward to it still haha

After a somewhat drawn out process
and plenty of PM's back and forth, I've managed to register for both days. Thanks to Malcolm and Lisa for support ops
