Kiwi in Bristol Uk

Post by Kellydunnos »

Hi Gents,

Just joined, I’m from Nz living in Bristol Uk, a long term rotary fan. I have an Rx3 Coupe I’m slowly in the process of restoring ( require a 12a, or housings for a 12a. If you know of a good used 12a or housings I would greatly appreciate being pointed in the right direction)
I Look forward to enjoying the forum .

Cheers
Kelly

Welcome Kelly,
Its great to have another Rotary in the SW area, especially a RX3 :o How roadworthy is the car? Is it just waiting a engine?
We would love to see some photos,

Hi! Where abouts in NZ are you from? I've just returned to the UK after living in Masterton on the lower North for the past 4 years. Sweet country bro.

You could hit up TOOL on here. He has a complete S3 12a for sale. viewtopic.php?f=18&t=4003

Any pics of the RX3? That was my first car way back when you could still walk onto most any used car lot in NZ and spend 4 figures to buy one!

Hi Pete,

Sorry for the delayed response.

The RX3 coupe ( red) has had the original engine removed prior to me purchasing it, unfortunately it has an old mazda 808 engine and gearbox at present.
The car is actually road worthy-ish runs and drives but needs some love. I'm away with work at present but I'll post some pics of the car when I get home.
Cheers

Hi Dave,

I thought there would be a few fellow kiwi's lurking in the background of this site lol.

Like you I grew up with rotaries and loving the RX3 but didn't actually purchase one until I moved to the UK 10 years ago.

I'm away with work at the moment, I will post some pics when I get home in a couple of weeks.

Thanks for the heads up with regards to the engine. Also looking for a complete Diff to replace the original so I can run a little more BHP through it. Any Ideas on what a good transplant might be ? It sounds like an rx7 GSL SE is a straight swap .

Cheers

Kelly
