Exhaust system

Post by Threesevens »

spotted this on ebay.
Original unused exhaust system for FB. Apparently he had an Elford conversion and was given back the original exhaust system.
Might be available at a good price if you are looking for one

I can’t see it? If anyone wants original exhaust they can have my old one, but mines well rusty and the back box is missing, replaced with Janspeed. The heat shield is damaged from wrestling it off the car.

Looked again and it worked this time, but that is not an original exhaust system.

Thanks James I bow to your superior knowledge. I was only going on what the seller said.

Here's a pic with some notes if people cant see it. The bits I didn't circle I don't think are RX7, if you want a complete original exhaust system you could have my old system plus the buy the back box there, and maybe the use the main part and air pump pipe, they look in better condition than my old ones, but a lot of the original bits are missing there. Alternatively you could use the aftermarket manifold there, and get a centre section made, then use the original over axle and back box section that's there. One of the non RX7 bits there on the right could possibly be chopped up to make a centre section with some welding, depends if the pipe diameters are right though, and you'd likely need to buy some slip joints, flanges, hangers etc etc.

If those exhaust parts were free or nearly free they might be worth doing something with, especially the manifold, but don't expect to collect just those bits and be able to bolt it all on to an RX7.
