I can't see see the holes in the left door for mounting the door mirror. I never saw a FB with these rare option. I wouldn't change that.
Btw you need a mirror in very good condition matching with that very outstanding seven.

You are right Thomas. I have never seen one like this before and it has never had one fitted. Are you saying I shouldn't try to find a mint mirror and leave as is? Just makes it harder reversing into my garage

no series 2 cars had a nearside door mirror fitted as standard although plenty of owners since have fitted one.... pretty much essential these days in modern traffic

Nice one Kevin, great to see that superb example go to an enthusiast

My S2 doesn't have a nearside mirror, but my S3 does. The wiring is in place in the S2 door, but the switches on the S2 and S3 on the dashboard are different, in that the S3 has a L/R slide switch in the centre to select the mirror. There should be no problem to change the switches over, as they are physically the same size.

Be careful with sourcing a nearside mirror. I believe the mirrors on RHD/LHD models are slightly different.

Gave it bit of a polish this morning and then took it out on the road. It was great on quiet country roads and drives and handles really well. Probably not as quick as the FC but not much difference. It is all pretty clean but the engine bay needs work. The interior is like it has never been sat in. The old Clarion works fine and the electric aerial goes up and down.
Also thanks for calling me an enthusiast, but I am in awe of you guys who do so much with your own cars. I wish I had the knowledge and the tools and patience.

Stopped and took a few photo's
If you look at photo's you can see the nearside wing is a slightly different colour

Strange to see that the original red ignition coil is missing after all the debate we had about it..... I wonder who removed that?
