Hello from Alberta, Canada!

Post by PinkSlip »

Hey All,
I've grown up drag racing since I was 10, when I got my start in a Jr Dragster. I've competed all over Western Canada and even have a few Wallies decorating my new house. I'm a 20 year old woman, and just bought my first RX7 for a daily driver/future racing project. I realize most are going to kill me for this, but i'm going to be doing a conversion to a Chev V8, but that's quite a way's down the road - and I may change my mind. I'm currently in the process of just fixing it up with the current engine/tranny set up and I joined this forum to see what sort of aftermarket parts I can invest in, in the mean time, to get the best out of the rotary engine it currently sports.

Welcome to RX7 ownership

And yes we will let it pass that you dare mention piston engines on this site. We will use this time to show you how worty the rotary truely is.
Coming from a drag background you must be aware of the huge power potential that rotary engines have- yes.
But lets not rush, i am sure it will soon get under your skin.

Post up some photos and tell us if you have any history on the car.

Cheers
James

Hi Alaina,
a warm welcome to the forum and congratulations on getting a RX7! Please post some photos up of it if you get chance.
As James says, once you start driving around in it with the rotary engine, you'll most likely get to love it.... they are addictive.
There's loads of good advice and experience on here and it's a friendly place to be, so any questions, ask away.

cheers,
Ian

Another warm welcome to the forum. We all love pictures, especially the US/Canadian spec cars that got all the bits that the UK didn't.... As James and Ian have said, once you've gotten the rotary bug, all will become clear :!:
Also wondering where you are in Alberta as my wife has relatives there and with it being such a small town, you are bound to know everyone

Wishing you all the best with your rotary experience. Dave. :)
