Replacement sunroof options?

Post by munk »

Hey all,

My sunroof is beginning to look a little bubbly, so I'm wondering if there are any options for replacement? I have seen the Pacific glass moonroofs over in the USA- but wondered if there were any other options a little closer to home? Also have seen the fiberglass skins sold by 22c, do you know if they still make them?

Cheers!

Keep your eyes peeled for a moon roof, they come up for sale every so often...either that or a breakers for a steel one?

Most people bid for one of the glass ones that come up occasionally over here.

Either you pay a lot of money if the seller has an eye to the value (like £180 - £200 region for a good one), or alternatively you drop on a breaker who hasn't yet tumbled that the roof is the most valuable piece of kit on the car. And of course the S2 or S3 drops straight in. Not S1 - they're different.

Or you could get a replacement metal roof......either in Red and T-Cut it back to bright and shiny like your car, or another colour might be easier and respray it.

I've a spare silver one if you want one, but transport is as ever the problem.

I don't know if anyone has done anything else apart from the above?

FRP sunroof- might shoot them an email to inquire. Otherwise I'd love a moon roof- does anyone know of any companies who are able to manufacture a on-off / low volume run of glass? I'm sure that given the steel's tendency to rust, there might be some folks who would want to go in on that sort of thing?
