Strict rules over there!
If i would register it as a hgistorical car i wouldn´t.
But the problem is that the car has to be nearly original. And because of the exhaust system i wouldn´t even
get a historical classified registration. :/
Problems over problems. But still in love with my car

Hey ian,
as you have made the replacement guide for the double s exhaust system i would like to know
if you have the system still installed.
If yes, is the exhaust system registred in you car model papers?
My workshop guy told me that the tüv worker would maybe accept it if he gets
some papers of an rx7 with a registrated double s exhaust system.

I don't have a double s exhaust fitted because my car is a turbo so has a turbo system fitted.
We don't have to register exhausts in the UK and can fit what we like. There are plenty of 1st gen RX7's in the UK with Double S systems fitted but none will have the exhaust registered anywhere.

The papers were mine Maurice, the top one from when I fitted an Elford system to an earlier Series 2
But I've also taken a Double S system from another Series 3 scrap car to use on our present Series 3......(that car is the beautiful Silver one in the top banner of the Forum.....the one with the red coach line). The kit I took off was like the kit in bottom picture on the uploaded exhaust pictures, except I refitted the old Mazda back box which was then quite new.
Anyway, the point is that, I this country, we do not have to register this particular modification to our DVLA (Licensing Authority).
BUT.....I have notified our Insurance Company that the car has a modified exhaust system. That will be recorded somewhere. I don't know what use that might be??

It would be useful for others if you are able to confirm if Type Approval documentation was required before you were able to acquire TUV Registration.
From my knowledge of this type of document, it is the responsibility of the manufacturer (in this instance the Exhaust System maker) to acquire TUV Type Approval and they must issue it to you (or the original purchaser).
Please POST your findings .........

If nothing else helps there would still be RHD Speedmaster in Rheinhausen. This company is able to register allmost anything for your car (as far as I know not 100% legal but as soon as it's in your papers nobody ever will ask you again) as long as you don't live in Hessen because they went kind of stupid concerning §21 stuff there. I'm not a big fan of that company because of their high prices and said not so legal methods but if there's no other way...
OR... you could bring your car to a company which is able to craft you a new exhaust system and register it with your car. I only know H und B Auspufftechnik near Stuttgart doing this but I guess there are more of those companies around in Germany.
Last possible solution I can think of:
http://www.ebay-kleinanzeigen.de/s-anze ... 9-223-7482
They have some RX7 SA and FB models standing around. Maybe they can provide you a usable original exhaust system. I've ordered a front bumper from them any everything went well.
