It's me again, I have another problem.
The car was running but on a small test drive, the engine stalled on acceleration. I forgot about clamping the unsused air box inlets/holes. I am unsure exactly what ones to do, as when I block off all of them, the engine won't run unless I have the choke pulled out!
Please help as I am so close to a mot and a really drive! Thanks Dave

I don't think there's any other pipes to blank. I couldn't bring myself to crush the pipes in a vice like it said to do. Instead you can see I'm electrical.......Ha Ha. Works fine though.

Sorry I am still not getting this, I have blocked the ones you have said. But I still have more underneath.
One tube is still attached to the engine just above the carb, and the other has a tube just hanging in space. Do I block both of them off as well?
I also have a tube coming from the air pump, so do i attach that to the tube coming out the side of the manifold?
I have tried to attach some pictures, but no joy sorry.

Blanking off the pipes from the air box is just cosmetic. Leaving them open isn't a big issue.The hoses to the air box are mostly connections from vacuum sources. It's the sources that need blanking off. You may well have a unplugged vacuum source that is leaking.

Also, if you've removed the thermal reactor then there is no need for the air pump. The air pump is only there to feed air to the reactor.

Hi, i have blacked all the areas around the manifold, blocked off all the air box inlets, apart from the one going into the engine. And it still won't run with out the choke fully out!
I guess if what you guys are saying that its not a big deal to have the air inlets open, it must be the choke set up. I must of knocked it taking the manifold and carb off!
The air pump has been removed, its the pipe coming from the circular part by the brake fluid. I thought it was the secondary air pump, after looking for it in the Haynes manual. Do i connect that to the side pipe ob the manifold?

The pipe on the far left! Is that to stay open or blocked off?

On this picture the pipe is connected to a tube.

From memory that pipe goes to the brake servo.... I cant check because I'm nowhere near the car, I'm sure someone else will confirm or correct me soon...
