Re: Danny's RX7 FB
Next thing is the left side of the car. It is as bad as the right was, so again a lot of work! Later i will take the rear section on. Also some cutting and welding there. Stangely, seeing the underside completely rusted, the doors, wheelarches, front wings and so, are in very good condition. The interior is allso scrap, but i met a some guy who has a complete set, in red, stored for 20 years. I can have it for free, he says...first i have to see it for myself. Still looking for a glass roofpanel, anyone?
Re: Danny's RX7 FB
Helo.danny that fabrications really impressive as you know that's what my rx7 needs still looking for someone local to take that on meanwhile I'm getting on with aĺl.the other jobs good stuff adrian
Re: Danny's RX7 FB
Well Adrian, all these works are very time-consuming as you will know. sheetmetal is not expensive, but labor is, and there is the problem if you have to pay some one else to do the work for you. Everything is made by hand with basic tools, some are selfmade. Hamers, pieces of pipe, pliers, snips, adapted vise, MIG welder, grinder, drill, etc...I'm a self-teached guy by try and error. I'm a warehouse-manager in a local factory for a living. Aslong as you enjoy working on these old cars, everything is fine. Once you had enough, better to stop for a while. It will come back...This is my third car-restoration in 12 years. First a 323 GT 1984, then my 929 Coupe 1974 and now the RX7. The 929 was probably even worse. I also had a Piaggio Ape project a few years ago. It is now inside an Italian restaurant, used as a small bar. There is one more old Mazda on my wish-list, a B1600 from the 70's or maybe a Bongo from the same era. Or a RX3, or...or...

Front end of the car is cleaned and repaired where necessary. Layer of epoxy sprayed on to it, ready for the next step.

Re: Danny's RX7 FB
Well, it takes time and dedication. And a welder, grinder, sandpaper, paint, and other stuff.
