As lucky says exactly......These engines fail simply because of oil and water neglect.....they won't take abuse.
If you're ex California, now Hawaii, you really want to find a guy called 'Stirling' on USA site rx7.com. He is the serious Nikki carb guru. He rebuilds 'em for fun!!!!....OMG.
If you've any reasonable mechanical knowledge you don't need a service garage.....everything for day to day running can be done by the owner.....they're really simple cars, just a couple of new concepts to understand.

It's not hard to tear down a Nikki for a simple fault and give it an overhaul.
Just don't lose the ball bearings!

The mods are all well documented. Smaller jets, that's the key

Got the car today cleaned her up for a bit fixed the driver side window because it didn't roll up all the way. Also i would like to know if this after market push start would help me use the relay and do a bypass straight to the battery? o.O The cars ignition is taken apart because they said it was bad but it seemed like someone got mad and tried to hot wire the damn thing

What i'm asking is if I should just order some used one and do a plug and play or can someone give me more info on this aftermarket item (

I don't know if that push start would work... if the original wiring is still there, it's probably easier to get a genuine 1st gen ignition switch/barrel off ebay and just plug it in

Thanks Ian that's what I did still waiting for the part to ship. So my carb I just unscrew it and clean it out? Is there a cleaner that I should use or just whipe off the dust? Is it ok if i use purple power degreaser or is it like a Maf and has sensors in it?
