£44 to post a £54 part... and will probably get stung with import duty and handling fee. I wonder if nengun can get it, whether mazda can get it again for cheaper.

It was only 1 month ago I checked with them.
To my understanding they can only check Mazda parts in Europe at my dealers, I guess Nengun get it from Japan or the States.

To be honest the postage is expensive, but £100 for that part is still reasonable, especially given the age of the car.

The duty/Parcelforce fee I paid recently on some parts from Australia added about 35% to the purchase price, so on the valance from nengun it could be around £40?

Anyway I've now ordered one as these could be like hens teeth, so I'll let you know what I get stung...

Cheapest shipping option to the UK is EMS at £43.70.
An update on this, received this part.
Took approx. a month to process the order and then another couple for the shipping/RM delivery process to complete.
Part + delivery £99.14
Duty £23.90 (I selected the 50% insured option, so don't know if this reduced the value for duty calculation)
Total £123.04

Mines with Parcelforce waiting for me to pay the import duties.
Not worked on the car for months as I've still got too much other stuff going on in life right now.

Not much to update on this really, the valance arrived from Japan & looks swanky.

Unfortunately I've started a new job in Dubai, + I'm moving in with my girlfriend & also moving location from the East Coast to the lake district, so progress has consisted of me giving it a quick wash and rinse whenever it looks mucky.

However I've decided to bite the bullet & take it to somewhere that does rust repairs on old cars and have all the sill / rear arch rust taken care of professionally, its the only way I'll get it back on the road before they ban petrol!
I've contacted a couple of places & am awaiting to hear back.

That way I can work on the 'fun' stuff.

great stuff you guys got the valences, annoying that the fees make it more expensive. Life has a habit of getting in the way of cars, good luck with the job

Update.

Progress is happening on the car again, although at the moment the progress is happening at a workshop not at my house.
I've found myself in the position of having a good job but not very much free time, so instead of spending 10 years getting this car finished I decided to let a workshop do the welding / structural bits. I'll do the wiring & the interior cosmetic stuff.

This way the car isn't rotting away under the car port and it'll be done much sooner & get back on the road.

The chap working on it is going to send me lots of pictures. He's already managing to find some holes I didn't know about!

They weren't as helpful with me. Just said no.
I got mine delivered from Japan, just not through the Mazda dealer.
