My "Blue Peter" centre caps are complete...at last! I have 2 different types, one pair of each...they are a bit different, who would have thought that pickled eggs would come in a different jar?

Confused? well, read on...this is true budget modding, Peter Purves would have been proud

As you probably know, I have old Supra wheels, and the Toyota centre caps are massive, square sided things, with Toyota on them...I've been running without anything for ages now, and then thanks to a club323f member, that makes old logos and stuff (and sends awesome wedding presents), I had me an idea...

Start off with some logos...and, yes, you've guessed it, some jam jar lids, well, pickled egg jars anyway - they were the best fit

Stick the logos on with some 2 part acrylic adhesive

and paint, and offer up to the wheel for a test fit :)

Told you it was a Blue Peter special - I even used double sided sticky tape to secure the lids, I mean centre caps, to the old can for painting

Not sure if I should risk driving with them on, they're not exactly a perfect fit...but they stay on well enough for show use. I might glue them on, but it'll be tricky to get them off to balance the wheels :?

You didn't mention where you got the logos from. Where did you find them? They loook good.

That's a super early Mazda logo though.

Oops, I still hadn't quite finished...just needed a couple more finishing touches :)

Rocking the new club stickers :D

The logos came from the same guy in Japan that sent us the wedding present :) I know they pre-date the car, but they look cool, and they were cheap, like the budgie

Clever and enterprising mod Marc.... well worthy of a Blue Peter badge :)
Looking forward to your Mazda themed christmas decoration made from wire coathangers, tinsel and sticky backed plastic :D

Excellent mod, that. I don't see a problem with logos pre-dating the car, after all upgrading to more modern fittings is an acceptable way of freshening a car up ...OE Plus or whatever gimmicky name da internetz has given it. I see it as drawing on the heritage of a cherished marque meself, a sort of homage thing.

So... where do we get those 3D emblems from, lol?

I can get the logos if you want some, it takes him a little while to make them, and they work out at around £20 for a set of four shipped to the UK. Not exactly cheap, but I reckon it takes a few hours just to make them, so fair play to the lad ;)

£5 a piece shipped sounds fine to me.

Lucky, I was none too happy to see an RX2 guard badge on the grille of an RX8.
It was more the fact he had no clue what it was meant for.

Nothing to do with Marc's choice which I'm keen to check out in 2 weeks time.

My 2p.

Took a few pics with my new camera, and fitted my new headlights. I've had them for ages, took me a while to get bothered to take my old ones apart and clean up and paint the surrounds
