Good progress going now aye! Although I'd prefer a rotor - it's your car and I'm glad an FB is being kept running! Haha. Definitely interested to hear how it drives when the time comes aye

Thanks mate.

I realise its not for everyone, but nothings permanent & an engine can always be swapped back if I 'ruin it'.

Small update.

Realise things are going slow, the chap I have doing the work is going (at my request) at a steady pace to keep costs under control & also to give me time to work out the electrical side of things.

Rear is nearly finished now, diff mounting still to do & then boxing the floor back, extra braces & reinforcement etc. Won't lose any boot space & there's even room for a shallow spare wheel well if I want.
Custom fuel tank to be fabricated from alloy.
Once I'm happy with it then I'll probably make up some composite covers for the shock tops & leather wrap them.

Rough position of engine. Very tight for top clearance but its possible without any bonnet modification (a red line of mine, if we can't then it gets another engine)
Room for the radiator is tight as well, although as we don't need the oil cooler we don't need to worry about that.
Also have to find room for the AC condenser from the MX5.

Hi there, car looks like a good project mate,
Not sure where you are based but if you get stuck with the timing marks I have a spare front pulley if you want to be accurate with it.

Haha, thanks for the offer.
Sadly as you can see the rotary is going. (Well its already gone, I sold it the other day)

I want to daily this bad boy in summer & sadly this engine is a compromise. At least its somewhat revvy.

Not much progress to report right now, its moving but its all cancer removal. Its amazing just how much rust an otherwise sound looking body actually holds!

Bit of a photo dump.
A house purchase, boat woes and other financial bits and bobs meant that I had to ask Andy to slow down a bit.

However we're not far off a rolling chassis. All the reskinning will happen once the running gear is finished as the access is pretty good right now.
There was a crapload of rust everywhere though, in places I wouldn't have suspected. The bulkhead especially was riddled with it.
