My original is the black one. Theirs seem to be exact replacements, except their quality control sucks. One of the new pair is shorter than the other. So I tossed the short one in my spare parts collection and installed the 2 that were the same length.

The engine was 200 horses to begin with, so that's 170 at this elevation. My cold air induction and exhaust system may add a few, but where the exhaust manifolds dump into the pipes is still restricted, so I see little chance of it exceeding 200. Not that the owner cares, while both of my own projects have the 4.8L version of GM's LSx V8.

Not that I expect anyone to be interested, but my S-10 started in this thread:

and is now in this thread:

First to admit that I know zip about S 10 pickups but those mpg figures are impressive. Especially how mpg increased after adding the least aerodynamic airdam that I've seen for a long time. It's a different world for sure!
MPG and rotary is never going to be a positive conversation sadly.

The new M12 x 1.5 x 30, grade 10.9 bolts arrived, so here's a better view:

that's 5/8-inch 6061-T6 aluminum, roughly 1.375-inch in this case, with an offset of 0.106-inch.

Knowing the brakes can never be insufficient is worth the couple hundred extra dollars. The tires may prove to lack grip, but that's a separate matter. Likewise boiling the brake fluid.

Finally had everything ready for brake fluid, and the right rear bleeder was open. Then, the left rear wouldn't open. So after the socket destroyed the hex part, I tried Vise Grips, genuine Irwin brand. A dozen tries later, the remains broke. So now I gotta spend more on a reman caliper, plus shipping mine in.
I must assume this caliper is the reason why, with the other corners bled, the pedal still feels like it releases pressure just before bottoming. I don't like this. GM brake masters divorce the fronts from the rears, so even if you lose one end you still have the other. Mazda was too fart-brained.

I might be wrong here but I thought most cars had split circuit brakes from around the 1970's?

I thought so too.
Packaging was more about test fitting what had to go in, in sequence.
Exactly 3 weeks until the show begins, much needs done, and I can't slow the clock.
