There tends to be two ways of mounting the IDA, please correct me if I get this the wrong way round, but James carb is the US way method, and mine and yours Lucky are the Aussie way. My understanding is that it is linked to throttle position of US and Aus spec cars.

Could be nonsense, but that's my understanding........

I had to convert an inlet mainfold as I am using a cold air box from Aus, which has the carb the opposite way round from James version, and the shiny Aus spec mainfold I bought was too bloody tall for my car with an air box fitted

I am prepared to be corrected.......

I creep closer to being road going.

It has MOT and tax but need to sort out carbs, gauges, and cooling.

Put it in to Powerflow Bromley for a custom back box to go on the RacingBeat headers and intermediates.

Are they going to match the RB flange? One piece from flange back or will rear muffler be a flange / sleeve connection after the U bend over the rear axle? What did you specify as packing material?

........... interrogation ends ;)

So it was waaaay back in February 2015 that KiwiDave and I removed the engine from MelloYello.

Looking back so much has been done but, at the time, it would sometimes feel like no progress was being made. Where ever possible I have done the work myself, apart from the obvious specialist stuff. It has all been evenings and weekends, in a lock up that does not have power or water. In the same period I also got married, bought a flat, got a cat, and started a new job.

I received lots of advice, had some help, asked many questions, did lots of reading, learnt a lot, spent a lot of monies, and ultimately have a better understanding of my car.

So I have taken the majority of the interior out, mostly to trace wires but also because "racecar". Electrically if it was not being used then it has been removed. All that is left is seats, steering wheel, parts of the dash and some guages.
The engine was built by Era at Oldone's, to full bridge port specifications. Using new housings and replacement lapped plates.
Aluminium radiator with dual Mishimoto fans, to cool the bastard - it gets up to running temperature within minutes.
Reconditioned units include - alternator, starter motor, Mallory fuel pump and Weber carburretor.
Racing beat dual headers and dual mid-section, with custom Powerflow rear box.

And another photo so you know it still exists, and so you can recognise me at RRG

Any ways that was my long winded way of saying that I am looking forward to being back on the road and attending RRG16. See you there.

Exchanging a bit of banter, twisting some spanners, and cutting some wires (cos Dave said it would be fine) with this fella.

Getting some pre RRG16 work in.
