Progress has slowed quite a bit lately. Being dark at 3-4pm was rubbish as I get home from work at 6pm! Haven't managed to get a whole lot of pictures as I recently got a new phone haha. Will update what I have taken though

Managed to finally get my fuel system sorted out. The standard pump had seized by the time I tried to prime the system so had to buy a new one. Got a Carter 4600 to replace it. It was a tight fit between the swirl pot and diff but I got it sorted in the end. Had fuel squirting out of one hose which linked the rails together. Easy enough to cut a new piece and put the AN fittings back on. No fuel leaks that I know about as of this weekend . Will be keeping a close eye on it when first start comes around. Ideally I would still like to make up an aluminium drop tank aye.

Used my new favourite tool. A bolt, nut (not flanged!), and 3 washers.



To install a bunch of these beauties. Rivnuts are awesome and you don't need a flashy expensive tool to install them! . You want to tighten the nut while you hold the bolt steady.




Finally managed to get my rear ACBRON coilovers installed which was nice. They were quite close to that top piece of steel as you can see in the first picture. So I gave it a quick tap with the lump hammer . No biggie really. Pretty straightforward. Gave them a spray with some ACF50 also. I did raise the ride height after these pictures were taken! Haha




Ordered some oil and filled her up! Getting close now . Not running an OMP so went with some fully synthetic and will be premixing



Trying to get one of these is proving to be difficult. Mazda UK are saying it's not longer available and Atkins want £3.99 + £51.65 shipping!! . I do like them but they really need to sort out their international shipping prices. Mazdatrix won't even say how much shipping would cost until I order it



That's about it for now aye. Didn't managed to do very much today as it has been stupidly windy. I really need to find a unit somewhere nearby. Can't think if anyone local on here would be interested? haha. Got a few small bits and pieces left to sort out. But for now I really need to get a propshaft made so I can fill the tranny fluid up and prime my oil system. Then start her up!!

Jesse, can't you just cut one of those inlet gaskets from some gasket paper?... that's what I'm running on the inlet on my Elford it's been fine.

Have you tried contacting Atkins via Facebook regarding the shipping cost? They seem to be very helpful. £51.65 ??? Wtf!

Jesse, contact Pip at WGT. He should have a gasket for you.

Thanks for the replies aye boys. I had a reply from Atkins saying to email one of their team to help me out. Hadn't gotten to Pip or Tim yet haha. I have managed to track one down so hopefully be able to get it on for a dry run soon

I have been meaning to polish a set of my Longchamps for a while now. I thought of a plan to mount them on a lathe which will make sanding them MUCH easier than just doing it by hand. Soapy water along with some wet and dry. It worked out much better than I had thought! There is still some slight pitting and deeper scratches but I'm happy with them as they are. The centres need hand sanding though haha.



Just need to do 3 more and then take them to the bench grinder with various mops/compound





So I was going to start it up a few weeks ago... BUT. As I filled it up with water it started pouring out from the water pump and the 2 turbo coolant hoses . The hoses must have gotten dry/brittle and cracked in various places while I moved them from place to place. I also realised that the gasket I took off was for an older 2 stud water pump, while my engine needed the 3 stud gasket. Managed to get a new gasket for a couple of pounds from Mazda and replaced the turbo coolant hoses with some fancy 3 ply silicone stuff. Filled up again and we are all dry! Minus a very slow drip from the top radiator inlet/hose but it's cool for now.


After PLENTY of back and forth, tightening everything for the 10th time, checking fluids (AGAIN). I got my fancy Optima Red Top in to the car with a fresh charge. Installed my shifter. Plugged in the ECU. Flicked my circuit breaker to give power to the car. Then sat in the drivers seat for 10 mins scared to start it in case something broke! . Eventually I grew some balls



First turn of the key! It fired up after no more than 5 seconds too! Was pretty stoked as it hadn't run for about 1.5 years since picking it up from Tim . It is a LOT louder in person. It sounds quite scary really hahaha. It's gonna be even more scary learning to drive the thing again! . I definitely didn't take it around the corner and back

Got a few issues. The exhaust is leaking somewhere around the turbo/manifold/block/downpipe area. I need to track it down somehow. Still half debating one of those SDR manifolds but I'm not sure. The throttle cable I used kept popping out of its guide and holding the revs between 2500-4000 RPM . Think I have sussed that one though. I noticed a while ago that one of the TINY cables on the boost controller handset snapped off at the connector/plug. Steve-A tried to solder it up for me but I noticed today that it had broken again . Will try to solder it again, but if that doesn't work then I'm a bit unsure what to do aye. My passenger wing has rusted off at the bottom as they do. Will need to replace or repair it but my metal fab skill are prettty bad
