Series 2 for sale.... London
Description:
Regrettable sale of my much loved RX7 but i have too many cars. It is a 1981 Generation 1 Series 2 car that is believed to have covered just 34,000 miles from new. It is finished in Renaissance Red with a very retro Red cloth interior with beige stripes. The RX7 was built when the Japs were really at the top of their game, the RX7 was a real quality car with electrical every thing from mirrors, aerial, to boot and fuel release, pop up head lights with wash system etc. The RX7 gave credibility to the much underrated Rotary engine. YOI as it is affectionately known has no rust on the body, the interior to is in excellent original condition and even has its original Radio (fm has packed up) the only blemish being the drives door cap shown in the pictures. The alloys and tyres are in excellent order with no curbing polish up to like new. Both steel roof and glass roof are included in the sale. When i bought YOI i beleive it had been sitting for some time as a few problems have reared their head, i had to replace the brake master cylinder, but there is a slight judder from initial drive which be either transmission mount or an old clutch plate although it does change gear perfectly with no noises or crunches, once on the move it is silky smooth with no issues. The fan belt slips above 3000rpm which i have been told is the viscous coupling fan going bad and i should replace with a kenlowe fan thus releasing a few more horses and give way to that glorious Rotary sound. YOI also has a habit of cutting out like it has run out of fuel but it hasn't, i beleive there to be debris in the tank and so needs a flush. Having said all this i do use this car everyday so the problems are not drastic they just would enhance the driving experience.

first showed up a few months back in Bristol for £1695.00..... then appeared at a dealers for £3495.00..... by the time everyone had stopped laughing, the dealer sold it on ebay for £1900.... looks a clean car but the owner joined mrc and had some hassle with it, which still seems to be the case, reading the ad.

so why is she going, too many cars? is the guy still on the mrc site?
for that money you would expect just interior wear and everything else working. does a series 3 tank fit on a series 2?
ok she needs the tank repaired or a new one, the engine mounts or gearbox mounts are needing replaced.
if the car changes gear ok then the clutch shoud be ok?
wonder what she is like underneath, i also wonder was the red fb sold to a man in N.Ireland by the owner of
this one the same red Fb in newry as he had it on gum tree for the money the dealership was looking for this one.
ie about £3200.
