Hey bro! How are you doing? Have there been any updates on Rexanne at all?
I'm good! A bit like Steve really, life has taken me away from cars and towards motorbikes the past few years - mainly riding enduro, but also dabbling with a few road bikes along the way. (Triumph Sprint ST 1050 was the last road bike and I'm currently riding a Beta 300 2 stoke enduro.) Also had a dalliance with a fairly significant audio install into a Mk7 transit van at some point(!), which was a learning experience. :geek:

Anyway, a broken femur a year ago (motocross) and now this lockdown has got me off bikes for the time being, so I'm back to playing with Rexanne. Here's how she was looking as of yesterday... (Excuse the pics - I'm not as good a photographer as Steve!)

The next steps for her are an MoT next week, then I'm going to do an "oldskool" audio set-up, with some vintage Rockford Fosgate kit dating back to the mid Eighties!

I'd quite like to add a turbo at some point, but I'm a bit scared that no one in the world has much mapping experience for the "Megasquirt + rotary" combo... except perhaps Steve-A!!!

Maybe an electric conversion would be cool :?:

Hi Steve thanks for the update, boy you have been busy .... the Mk 2 has always been one of my favourite cars alone with the Lancia. The problem I have is that having owned my RX7 for 30 plus years now I just can't let it go.
Stay safe

Must be nice to be in that position A7RXY, to have that history with a vehicle. Best I can do is my 1972 Suzuki T500 which I've now had for just over 4 years, and I think might actually be a keeper!

Beta300 would be fun! I had a Gas Gas EC200 for a while, which ended up running most of it's time as a supermoto and could have done with being a 300 on tarmac really haha!

Nice to see Rexanne looking good :) I hope you manage to get her sorted and get out and enjoy some driving this summer.

I can't see why someone used to tuning rotaries couldn't tune Megasuirt for you, at the end of the day all the after market ECUs use some for of table to represent stark advance and fueling. So even if you had to bring your own laptop with the software on, they should be able to sort it out, if they're keen to try.

Equally the ethos of Megasquirt is all about doing it yourself, and there's load of info on the American based rx7club forum (presuming it's still going, all of my knowledge here is 10 years out of date!) They have a dedicated Megasquirt sub forum which is where I got a lot of my Megasuirt information for the rotaries from.

Good to see this car is still around and well, looking great on the longchamps. First RX-7 FB I ever saw in the flesh, and as soon as I got home I ended up finding this forum haha.
