So it's 4 port, making it a turbo motor then. 12A front cover as well I assume?
I hope you've got an electronic dizzy in there now.
They're a good motor.

				Clearly you know your rotaries!

  You are 100% correct!
She is a 13B turbo motor with the entire turbo setup removed, currently fitted with the 12A Nikki carb and intake with an adapter plate to match the 13B.
Yes the entire ignition has been redone with all new wiring, electronic dizzy, new coils, the works.
I want to replace the nikki in order to unleash the full power of the 13B but want to keep the clean simple roots of the 1st gen, so thinking either 48 IDA weber or a holley kit from racingbeat but just not sure at this point..... Either way, not many resources to help with that here in SA....

				Nice!
I'm putting together a S5 NA motor myself soon.
Webers are clean and simple carbs. No choke though, like you would get on the Holley, but it's ok, it's the lack of primaries and secondaries that's the biggest issue imo.
Good strong upgrade motor for the FB. Good stuff dude.

I have always liked the clean look of the webers. I have however seen 2 RX7's here in SA fitted with 48 webers and both suffer from hot start issues, is this a side effect of the weber or just poor tuning setup? I am not worried about the choke as it doesn't get cold enough where I stay to need it, in fact the nikki does not even have a choke cable connected.
On our coldest mornings I just hold the rpm at about 1500 for 30 to 45 seconds the moment she fires and that is it, idles without any issues.
Are you going to be porting the motor you planning on building?

Yeah, I will port it. I haven't decided what ports to go yet. The bridgey I currently have is pretty violent so it might be overhill, but maybe a smaller bridge might be better.
No, hot starting issues just mean the motors are on their way out lol

That is why I am leaning towards a large street port when I am ready to do up a motor for my rex. Bridge ports are lots of fun but don't work so well in traffic....
A lot of people that have seen the car here in SA keep asking me why I don't just turbo the motor again but I am not interested in that, just want to keep it as clean and simple as possible, that for me is when the 1st gen really shines!

Good to know about the hot start issue being motor on the way out, I asked the owner of the last one I saw if it wasn't a motor issue and he didn't take that to well....

				@Ian
Was just reading through the posts and realized I never answered your question. Yes, I removed the aircon evaporator from the car as none of the other hardware is in place, besides that, the rex is not a daily drive so the aircon is not important. I would however like to reconnect the heater core but need to pull it out to check the condition before plumbing it back in.

Could someone please help identify the below alternator and advise as to the correct wiring as I am currently seeing almost 16 volts when the car is idling.....

Thanks in advanced for any help!
