Nice work there James. It looks like you have replaced some of the rubber bungs in the floorpan. I'm looking for a couple of the larger ones. Could you tell me where you sourced them from please?

Had a bit of a mare after fitting the tank I realised exhaust routing was a bit tight, so modified the panhard bracket

I am very impressed with your work. When do you think it will be race ready?

My plan was to get it ready for some trackdays this year but I think that's not happening, but should be finished over winter and get it out next year.

Few little jobs done yesterday, finished up the fuel system, put a few litres and pumped it round and checked for leaks, all good.

Took the carb and intake manifold off, fitted a vac plug to the intake manifold, as I removed the brake assist servo. Also fitted some freeze plugs in the housings. I put a load of heat reflective gold tape on the intake manifold. It takes forever, hopefully that and the exhaust wrap keep intake temps a bit cooler, I will try and fabricate a heat shield at some point also.





Also put the dash back in and column stalks to start making a cluster and switch panel.



Also started fitting some roll cage padding, which is a massive pain!

Some steps forward, some steps backward.

I designed and 3d printed a gauge cluster to hold some retro looking aftermarket gauges in the stock dash.


I have been rebuilding a set of 3pc split rim wheels for the car, they are Ray's engineering volk mesh and are period correct to the car. I had new inner rims made by force engineering here in UK to widen these wheels to fit some nice chunky track tyres.


I've made some good progress on the wiring. First time wiring anything for me so a bit learning curve. Not using any factory wiring, watched a bunch of youtube videos and drew up a diagram and got to ordering bit. Most things I got from 12V planet and they have some good guides on wire size, voltage drop etc. I'm using oceanflex wire, non insulated F crimps (No Solder!) and adhesive heat shrink throughout, and also using some dymo label printed heatshrink. I've wired the odyssey battery crimped up the main power cables. I have made a switch, fuse and relay panel, which is where most things are wired to and from, and did this lot off the car. It's got an AEM wideband gauge, FIA kill switch, rocker switches, fuse box and relays in one place. It's quite a busy thing. I've wired in an MSD 6AL capacitive discharge for leading ignition, and also using an accuspark rev limiter on the trailing side. E fans wired in, all the engine senders, starter etc wired in. I've still got lights and wipers to wire in, but getting there.











Unfortunately I've discovered the 12A bridgeport engine I have fitted has seized since it was last started in late 2021, so I have removed the engine and box again, in anticipation of taking it to Silver Fern performance to ready it for track duty after it's slumber. Annoying setback, but should still be ready to get on track early this year I hope.

That is looking great. You must feel good having done all the wiring yourself, knowing each circuit will pay dividends in the future
