Thomas .....I use a special additive in the Bearings........you can see the Yellow & White (Gelb und Weiss) splatter on wheel arch, comes in special containers :o

"Yellow" your bearings will corroded more quick then ? I only can see the standard red grease in your bearings and the rest of the old gold spray can you've smeared everywhere..?.... -haha-

I now have the rear prepped for new springs, have changed the ARB Links & the bushes with Energy Suspension, I bought a job lot of 10 a while back & forgot so if anyone needs some give me a shout:-

Image

Haynes says to remove the springs you should disconnect all the suspension links & both shocks to both wheels & lower with a jack on the diff (with car supported on chassis both side) :o
I had a think & decided to just disconnect both shocks & ARB Drop links & with the assistance of a scissor jack under disc adjust the tilt of the vehicle with a 2 Ton under the diff (also supported under chassis).

I then, with the aid of 2 cut down spring compressors removed the spring having first undone the 14mm bolt in the centre of the rubber bump stop

Image

Now just have to await (been 6 weeks so far, from AUS) the arrival of new Rubber Spring Insulators.

After nearly 8 weeks the the Spring rubber Insulators finally arrived:-

Springs went in easy as they are slightly shorter (approx 1")

All put back together, car sits about the same height as before but what a difference in handling s(c) (had to go & get some essential supplies Officer) sya
The stance seems different even though the ride height (2 fingers between tyre & arch) remain the same :?:

Great work Pete, how the ride then? Is it much stiffer than before?
