Yes I didn't think camera would be able to distinguish but they are very slightly different. I will probably go for the darker one.

We are on stand 1-540. Apparently next to the big Maguires stand.

See you next week.

Nice. The rust doesn't sound too bad at all - thankfully!

The 2 colours also look the same on my screen  . I'd probably go for the one that has a bit more colour though aye

Yes currently going for the darker one. Pain is being scanned today to see what that comes out with. Challenge is finding an area of the car where the original paint hasn't faded too much. Pleased that very little rust was found. Image below shows the hole in rear drivers wheel arch. Also a pinprick at the rear of the passenger side sill. All easily sorted.

Rust was just starting to show in the passenger side rear seat well. Looking at the outside it didn't look too bad. However when strengthening plate removed standard FB rot found. This will be sorted shortly and drivers side plate is being taken off tomorrow. Will visit on Thursday to look at all the different spray outs and pick which one to go for.

Wow! That just shows the importance of removing the back seat for internal inspection - all looks fine on the outside!

Went to see the car today. Picked final colour from all of the spray outs done. The one done from scan came out very dark.

Good progress on fixing the rot shown above. New metal let in and also strengthening panel reinforced and refitted. We have decided to run sealer all round the edge of the panel and all other openings as it is clear to see where moisture gets in.

Driver's side plate taken off and a hole is just starting to form, you can just make it out at 4 o'clock from the suspension mounting bolt. Also surface rust on car and plate. This is all to be cut out and replaced. No visual sign externally or internally.

Also interesting to see that the threaded post on the reinforcing plate is open right through into car with just a rubber bung closing the hole. Not sure what this is for as I assume it is not really big enough for a seat belt mount. Could it be for mounting of luggage boxes in 2 seat cars?

Good progress on various panels with doors, bonnet, bumpers, front panel all in primer.

Over the last week the car has had full body prep and been sprayed. Will be visiting on Monday to check it out. From the many photos I have received it looks like a great job.

Once paint has had a chance to harden they will do re-assembly. Then all of the suspension is coming off to be refinished and new poly bushes and Racing Beat springs fitted. I did all the shocks a couple of years ago so they are all OK.

Whilst this is all off any surface rust on underside will be removed and the car resealed with body colour tinted protection as used originally. This will include re-applying the same textured finish to the sill panels and rear body panels as per factory.

I am very pleased that apart from the items mentioned above no major issues have been found with the car. and hopefully this work will keep it in good order for many years to come.
