Another ex- 3 Spires Mazda car.......A77WOM back up for sale again.... starting to look sorry for itself now...
Sold for £1900... I was in it up to 1260 quid.
I got my white one for £150 more and its in much better shape, seems that even rough ones are starting to fetch decent money

they are, the days of the cheapo have gone. This one does have good history though plus an engine rebuild... I've been watching it's movements for the last 9 years... £1900 is too rich for me though.... I only planned to paint and flip it.

I guess the 40th celebrations have fuelled the interest?

“The only things I have done to it is fit 5 new tyres and remove the red stripes from the mouldings and bumpers”
That’s gotta hurt

Series 3 for sale on Ebay.... looks like a bargain to me at £1900
1983 Mazda RX-7
Welcome to the advert for our lovely RX-7, as with all barn finds theres always a story so here it is....
We heard of an old mazda sat in one of a farmers barns not far away so jumped at the chance to go and investigate, we shot across to find a lovely old chap sat in an office of a farm, after a brief chat it became clear this man liked to keep everything, the yard was full of old tractors, the stores were full of old cars under covers, from a 1988 renault espace he'd had from new to an old vauxhall cavalier. In a seperate room and on its own surrounded by old farm equipment and a huge ride on lawn mower turned out to be an extremely rare old Maxda RX-7 with an inch of dust sat on her roof. She was sat in a store room that was completely dry and away from the elements and she obviously hadnt moved in a while but all the tyres were even still holding air and she looked solid.
We struck a deal and the owner kindly got her out in the sunlight for us, we loaded her onto a trailer, got her back to the workshop, threw a bucket of water over her, drained the old fuel and refilled with some fresh petrol. we then got the fuel pump working, put a fresh battery on her and checked the oil, which looked ok to start her but will obviously need changing. Then to our amazement she struck up first time on the key with no issues, we opened the radiator cap and saw nothing so started filling her with water, it became quickly obvious the radiator had let go as she was dripping quite badly from underneath but holding water long enough for us to get the engine up to temperature. We turned her off and left her for a few minutes then struck her up again as these old rotary engines can have hot start problems but this one seems perfect and was purring away like a kitten again after one rotation of the starter motor.
The clutch slave cylinder has let go so the clutch pedal goes straight to the floor (they are £60 on ebay) and then she will not only run but also drive, one of the brakes was sticking on so we whipped the front wheels off and pressed the pistons back in the calipers to allow her to move, they were then moving freely and shes easy to push being such a light car.
After getting her on a ramp and investigating, shes ridiculously solid. theres been one small patch of welding in the past on one of the front chassis legs and the bottom of the front wings have seen better days but they are a bolt on part obviously and wouldnt cause a failure of an MOT. We have lots and lots of detailed pictures if youd like the full copy. theres no broken springs, no signs of accident repair or previous damage, A lot of the bushes have cracks and will need replacing and all four tyres are re-treads (which its now illegal to have on your car in the uk) but with 14 inch alloys the tyres are relatively cheap to replace with new ones.
The main areas of rust are around the windscreen and just below the rear screen where water has obviously been sat when the car was in use. there arent any holes its just surface but it has taken the paint away and looks a bit worse for wear so that will need addressing.
The last tax disc in the window is from 1998 and the owner of the farm says the car has been stood there ever since. The speedometer reads 69,000 miles and with the condition of the interior I'd believe it.
The interior is immaculate and complete with all the trims and parts with the car. The drivers door card has been removed and is in the boot for some unknown reason as from a quick check over, everything seems to be working! electric windows all work and so do the pop up headlights, rear fog and brakes lights are all fine and all the switches are functioning as they should, the instrument cluster seems to be working although weve not driven the car so we only know the temperature and fuel gauge and rev counter are working.
The 5 speed manual gearbox selects all its gears as it should but of course due to the clutch issue we havent been able to test drive her to check
Were now looking for a new owner for this beautiful old car, someone with the time and energy and patience to do all the work and bring her up to a show standard once again.
Sensibly priced at £1900 ONO, fully restored examples available online are from £8500 upwards so we think this is a fair price for the heritage and history of this low mileage old japanese car with the amount of love and time itll take to do taken into consideration. Thanks for reading
