Ah Ian I forgot about removing the turbo to get your intake off! Damn! Gasket looks good. I used black RTV when I put more core plugs in - without o rings. It's still working fine.. For now :? :lol:

When I did my previous engine I also put RTV around the core plugs and no O rings and didn't have any problems... on this engine, for some reason I only put RTV around the rear core plug, which didn't leak but the front one, with the split in it, I didn't put any around :? :( so a combination of a damaged core plug, no rtv and no O rings.... no wonder it leaked!

What a cool thread , just read it start to finish... So many ups and downs and some great examples of camaraderie!

Really makes me realise i need to get my finger out... And i also need a ramp , serious garage and ramp envy!!!! :twisted:

Thats not including all the rx envy too....

Thanks Rich.... it's been a labour of love but with some lows too..... on a bit of a downer with it at the moment but it'll all come good in the end.
