the quest to get the car fit and ready for RetroRides continues...
The water pump was leaking so had to be changed...

When undoing the pump the housing came away too so I had the remove it and change the gasket on that as well...

Made a paper template for the new gasket...

then transferred it to the gasket material and cut it out to make the gasket...

did the same for the water pump...

water pump ready to go on...

a smear of blue Hylomar on each surface and it's all bolted back up...

everything connected back up and belts back on...

Image

Ran it up on tickover and it seems watertight... needs a good roadtest now to get it hot.

Did you remember the little spacers on the outlying studs?

Common cause of water pump leaks.

Making water pump gaskets is a right pain, fiddly bastards! Yours looks like a genuine part. I'm glad you're looking after her.
