Inspired by the fact that this car is running so well (for a change), I got a bit carried away today, did something I hate and gave it a polish..... which made me realise 2 things.... how much the car needs a good detailing and how much I truly hate cleaning cars.... just the glass to do now.

was drilling and tapping the waterpump housing to take the new coolant temperature sensor...

nearly done and ready to refit...

then...

Here's another nice mess I've gotten myself into...

2 weeks ago my daughters car dropped an exhaust valve on the motorway which smashed a piston, trashed the head, seized the crank and basically trashed the engine...

What's left of the piston...

which means that this thing has jumped the queue and is stuck in my garage for the next few months while I find and fit a new engine

So the RX7 will be put away for the winter, I will still carry on with adding sensors etc to the TII engine and building the Megasquirt but I need to get this Mini fixed and out of the way..... I hate working on modern cars and I've got zero interest in these Minis :( :( :(
