Pete I paid about that for mine but I did have a twin core fitted.

New radiator looks good, but S3 models do not have an oil cooler underneath the radiator, they have the beehive instead, so your new radiator should be water only, no oil. If you have connected oil lines up to your new radiator I'd imagine you will have a milky mess :o

:lol: :lol: I have disconnected it thanks James It would not cool much as it is just a very small tank, pointless really.

Does it really have a separate oil cooler in the bottom that isn't connected with the engine coolant? i've never heard of that

James, have a look at the picture below you will see 2 small pipes connected to the bottom they are not connected to the upper radiator, I assume they are for a rudimentary oil cooler? Any other Ideas?

if you leave those lines open and fill up the rad, does water come out? or are they sealed off?

All sealed off, Keith seems to think it is for the Auto gearbox Oil cooler feed, most plausible answer so far :clap:

That's the one! Auto tranny cooler it is. Looks well suited in your bay s(c)

I was thinking of painting it Satin black but whilst trial fitting it looked good shiny, so I think it will stay Au Naturale
It makes the whole bay look different

Ah that's a new one on me, never seen an automatic car myself!

I think leave bare ally, painting black can look nice and original but it won't work as efficiently 8-)
