is it safe to come out yet? if your asking me if I have spares then yes I do. Just ordered a master seal kit from Atkins rotary and my apex seals have arrived from Australia. Also had my plates lapped and there silky smooth.

It's never safe to come out. You should know that by now lol

I was soecifically asking if you had doare housings. What are they like?
Which seals did you go for?
Who did the lapping?

Iv got a set of housings with less than 2mm of chrome peel round the bottom edge on both housings, also have 2 spare 12a engines yet to be cracked open for a look.

lapping was done through tim at rx motors.

these are the apex seals im going to try.

If the spare motors don't have exhaust manifolds on, you can stick a light inside and check out the chrome right at the bottom of the housing.

Those seals - are they harder or softer than standard? If they are harder they might wear the housings even quicker - carbons are the way forward if you want to make housings last as long as possible, but if you have spares then not so much of an issue.

Psyco seals are SDR seals from aus - basically a different version of Kevs South Coast Rotary seals..

make sure you run premix of at least 100mls per 10L and you wont have any issues. My 13bt it 8yrs old and is still running when similar aftermarket seals..

Interesting. Why did you choose those seals?
Not criticising your choice or anything, just interested why you chose these over stock Mazda or RB carbon seals.
I haven't seen these before.

I read a write up in fast fours and rotaries and it had info on all the different apex seals. Steve dimech has been running some impressive times with these apex seals in his engines and have stood the test of time so thought id try them out. The name sounds cool too.

Bit of a busy Easter weekend, seal kit for the engine rebuild turned up from atkins rotary, and stripped a very poorly parts car. The car was beyond repair, chassis rails were shot along with other rather rusty areas, il let the pics do the talking.

Still a few bits to get off and the reg of the car is B400YHK for the records. All in all a good weekend with plenty of busted knuckles and even fitted a quick visit to santa pod for some drag racing action and off roading on the car park before getting the van stuck.

I hate scrapping savable cars but this one is defiantly terminal with the rot. I wish i had got a pic of the white audi drivers face as we came rallying towards him in a toyota hiace van . It was even funnier when he climbed out and got his winkle picker shoes stuck in the mud.

I had B400 listed in 'Probable Scrapper' file.......now gone into 'Definitely Scrapped'.
