NGK BR8ET after 100km

(hp) What do the professional think about these pics? Should I take NGK BR9ET? 12A NA Engine max 9000U/min

Needs more fuel first, then use the colder plugs.

change the nikki primary jets from 93 to 110 (Venturi 20 to 22mm) and the leading sparks from BR8ET to BR9 EQ

Next I change the trailing spark to BR9ET I think.

Today testet primary jet 123 mm secondary jet 170 mm trailing BR9ET Leading BR9 EQ same sparks as before.
carbon monoxide tester hot engine
1700U/min 2%
2000U/min 2,5%
3000U/min 2,5% short time before the mechanik secondary opens 2,0% then 2,5%
After this the nikki let the engine idle at 1600U/min 1,0%
testet greater primary jet 140mm result in smaller carbon monoxide at idle. Don“t know what shall i do.

Wow B10 EGV. Have not seen a set of those for a while. A much colder plug than you have been using.

I used them for racing only , a RX3 with 12a bridgeport, modified intake manifold and rejetted Nikki. It was ever such a long time ago.

yes my rx7 also have a 12A full bridge port with a moded intake manifold and rejetted Nikki. The two cross ports I have closed this will be to much to handle with a nikki.
What fuel pump and regulator you do you have on the rx3?????? And also interested about your modifications with the nikki.

I'm not sure that I can be of much help really. We are talking about 20-25 years back when I had the RX3!! :shock:

From memory, I tried a Blue Holley and a Facet Red Top fuel pump, I think we went with the Holley but can't recall what regulator was used. It was blue as well so perhaps it was Holley?

As for the Nikki mods, I never got the specs. I watched my engine guy reshaping the manifold, saw the replacement jets and that was that. It all worked very well and I recall somewhere in the region of 196 bhp at the flywheel.

My main concern was that it worked on road and track as it was my daily driver so that's why I went for the Nikki over a Webber setup so that the choke function was retained for easier cold starts. Also, the fuel economy was surprisingly good with mechanical secondaries and was oficially recorded on an economy trial (don't laugh, a mazda rotary club really did do an economy trial -haha- ) at 30.2 mpg!!
