Greetings rx7fb.com, my friends call me Nar. :seeya:

I'm a longtime car enthusiast/driving enthusiast and rotary enthusiast. I've owned five FC's, an FB and an RX3. (As well as several piston-powered vehicles) Here's some pics of my former rotaries:



My last rotary rocket went down in flames (literally) a couple years ago so I was taking a break from the trochoid monsters but soon I will be back behind the wheel of another FB. An 85 GSL-SE. My other FB was an 84 GL that had a bridgeported 12A w/Webers out of my 77 RX3-SP SCCA Pro Rally Car. It was very quick. This next FB project I'm undertaking is still in the early planning stages. I'm looking forward to what I can learn on this forum.

More about me, I was a mechanic for several years, but now I am back in school to finish my degree in automotive technology. I want to start a custom fabrication business and make my own parts.

I raced a bit in auto-x and rally-x, but my primary love of driving is the backroads. I was a high performance driving instructor at Thunderhill, as well as a drifting coach. I was also a member of the pit crew for the Butte College Raceteam on a few of their racecars:

i like the Rx3 pics too. Power optima yellow top battery works good with the bridge port engine in the red Rx7 FB GL I think. I active testing the same in my car since 1 Year and like the higher voltage if start the engine, lightweight, seasonal workung without problems how quick deep discharge.

Interested on your experience with the lsd if you are drifting with the bridgy!!! Input please!! Thomas

That RX3 is no longer with us though. After doing the rally thing I wanted to convert the car back into a tarmac car. It wasn't done yet though, and I flipped it in a drifting competition of all things.

That GL was awesome I should never have sold it. But, the combination of the bridgeport and the Webers was sucking gas like crazy. I got 8mpg on average and I couldn't afford to drive it around as much as I wanted. So I put it up on ebay and a buyer in New Zealand bought it. He flew to where I lived in California, test drove the car, and then shipped it back to kiwi land in a container.

As for drifting, I didn't enter the GL into any competitions. I didn't want to after the bad experience I had in the RX3. I still haven't done any drifting since then, but maybe I will, we'll see. FB's are easier to drift then FC's at slower skid-pad speeds. I can't really say what their high-speed drifts are like, as I only have experience with FC's in that regard (on the racetrack of course).

I also auto-x'd another FB and that was fun. I'd say the FB handles good, but not forgivingly good... you still need to know how to drive to make an FB stick and move the way you want it too. And the more practice you have with it the better. If you're really interested in drifting we can talk more about theory if you like. It's been several years since I've had an FB, so I'm just getting back into it with my new GSL-SE.

I'll have more practical input about FB character and general mechanics in regard to drifting after I spend more time behind the wheel of the 'white comet' as I call it :p
