Gilmers

Can anyone recommend a place to order spare Gilmer drive belts from? Or a proprietary belt that will fit? I can't seem to find one that matches the hieroglyphics on the one I have, but I freely admit my Google-fu is weak  I realise this'll probably entail somewhere foreign (to the UK), probably antipodean... and humongous shipping bills, but I'm braced up for that. Some of you Southern Hemisphere guys must be able to offer a lead?

Help! :( Thanks :D

Ive been thinking about getting my mate in Aussie to send me a gilmer from http://xtremerotaries.com/products/engi ... ectType=26 lately. They have spare belts also. I believe I read that the belt size is 300L. Come in square tooth and round tooth too, so gotta find the right type!

Im just tryna find the best place to buy a good quality kit at a reasonable price.

Cool, good link, ta. I got the pulley set on a secondhand engine I accidentally bought on eBay, but I don't want to fit them to my car without having a spare belt. I know it sounds a bit paranoid, but bitter experience has taught me not to modify things that may leave you stranded without any chance of replacement parts even being in the country!

yeah, lol. Sort of accidentally-on-purpose. There was eBay and cider involved, so the decision-making process was not as logical as it could have been

It looks like one of the Exile dudes can source belts in the country however, so hat's a bonus. I did find the PDF Catalgoue for Componers, who make the belt I have, but they're in Sydney so it's not the most local solution, for sure

Ahh yeah. Im sure alcohol has resulted in quite a few accidental purchases

Thats allgood then. I need to ask a few of my mates back home (NZ) about where I should be buying a gilmer set now haha.

Perfect Picture!!! Your car Lucky?

I heard if u hook the clutch fan up it sends the pulley out of balance. That true?

Yeah, that's my setup dude. I don't know about the fan because I went to an electric one at the same time I switched to the Gilmers, so I never ran them with the viscous coupling and all that
