well it actually began about 6 weeks ago on this website...

Hi guys, my names John and 6 weeks ago i decided to dive in and take the long road to restore an RX7! Long story short but my dad had one back in the 80's and, well lets just say i was in love with it. So 30 years later and my now step dad retiring, he's needing something to fill his time, perfect I'll by an RX7 and we will restore it together! Sounds easy, not, I must say i was very worried, and thought I've got a lot to live upto looking round this site, some of the restore threads W(p Anyway thus far the knowledge on here has been invaluable s(c)

My car (1983 silver) well let's just say she needs work, but i got a good deal, spare engine and gearbox. and she runs. More to follow on the projects section, look forward to sharing my pain, heartache, and achievements over the next 24 months (i thought 12 but then my dad put me straight) help along the way will be well received, can't wait to get started, now all thats left is to finish knocking down the garage wall........where's my sledgehammer

Hi John,
welcome along h:

Resto threads are our favourite! If you get chance, please start a resto thread in the 'rides and projects section' so we can follow your progress. They are pretty easy cars to work on, rust is the main challenge these days....sills, rear radius arm mounts and floor pans suffer the most. You should be able to source most spares through the forum, we all try to help each other on here.
Look forward to seeing your car.

cheers,
Ian
