Posted: Sat Oct 26, 2013 8:49 pm
Had this email from a guy who isn't on this forum but has been restoring a series 2 for the last 3 yrs or so...... he's giving up so wants to sell it on...... he hasn't named a price but it's an unfinished restoration..... I think Cliff has seen the car so would be able to advise on it's pre-resto condition etc.
If anyone's interested, shoot me a pm and I'll pass on his contact details...
Mr Codge, you'll recall this car, a silver s2..... didn't it have a tow bar on it if I remember right?
Hi Ian,
How's it going?
I might have to accept with much disappointment and embarrassment that I will never get the rx7 back together!
It's way to good to scrap and I was wondering if there might be any one interested on the forum who is looking for what is a good car at a competitive price. What would it be worth????
I bought the car with a full mot and drove it up from Devon to the Wirral .
The motor ran well but the brakes on the front required attention .
With this in mind I made the mistake of putting it in the garage and got carried away as one must do job lead to another. Unfortunately life got in the way and it just didn't happen.
In short the front end came off with the engine staying in.
All the parts that came off were painted or replaced and are all there to be refitted.
I have kept all the parts as organised as possible
Good points

Full Pollybush set for car. 200 plus££

Rx8 leather seats that require small attention. With original seats.
strut brace
Bad points.
It requires the front end putting back together.
Engine bay requires respray
A small ripple in the passenger door. (As I got it)
Passenger window requires fitting.
Door cards are tatty.
New battery required .
The rest of the car has been untouched and as I got it.
Requires a good clean.
The car will never be a show winner but I was really pleased with it when I picked it up for a 30 year old car.
Let me know your thoughts but I would love it to go to an enthusiast to keep it on the road!!!!
I hope all is well with you .
Best regards
Dave
