Window switches

Post by Lucky »

My window switch has developed an annoying intermittent fault, in as much as it won't go down! The wiring appears to be all intact, so the question is are the switches rebuildable? Before I go to the trouble of pulling it to bits, lol. Or is it a case of I need a new one?

Thanks, Thomas. I'll have a go at it when it's light then

I just collected the car from the workshop where it had some fueling problems attended to. The windows were steamed up, it was dark, and I had to reverse it out of the alleyway... and I couldn't get the bloody window open to see where I was going  Always the way with these cars; fix one thing, another one breaks

don't try and prise the rocker out of the switch body, go in from the bottom and take the base of the switch off..... be careful when you re-assemble it because it should only go together one way round but is easy to force the clips and re-fit the base plate back to front...... apart from that, it's a piece of cake.

I've got some spares if it all goes horribly wrong and you end up with it scattered across a 10m radius which is what normally happens when I try and gain access to something like that.

lol. So far I've bottled it by taking the coward's way out of filling it with WD40 and hoping. It seems to be working so far....

How much d'you want for a spare, Timmers? Be nice to know I'm under no pressure when I man up enough to finally take it apart

The problem is the fluff and crud that accumulates in there. It is like the belly button of the RX& interior.
