apart from the low comp rotors and an oil return, how is the 12at engine any different from the standard 12a Tool? Why wouldn't a 12at setup go onto it?

I guess retro-fitting the fuel injection system might be a massive pain in the bifkin? Presumably there are whole shedload of sensors involved that wouldn't have been present, or even catered for with mounting points, on the carburetted setup

The injector holes are in the centre iron.

This is why you can't fit it.

Never even thought of the injectors, I guess cos I'm used to FDs that have primary and secondary fuel rails in the intake manifolds. I'd certainly be thinking of putting injectors there rather than trying to drill the irons. Although the more you think about it, the more bits a stock FB hasn't got to run injection... like you'd need an entire high-pressure fuel system and hi-volume pump as well... wastegate, extra exhaust plumbing, boost relief system... it'd definitely be a smeg's sight easier to upgrade the entire motor to a turbo version, like from a Series 5 or something. Hmmm, wonder if anyone's ever done it
