I have owned a few first gen 7's and a few pre 77 rotaries. When I figure out(or am allowed to) how to upload a picture, I'll post a shot of my old 79 (actually a 78) with Panasports.
Glad to see a dedicated first gen forum!

84 GSL-SE that eventually ran a 14.38 1/4 mile on the stock engine - with every Racing Beat bolt on and a lot of tuning. The 76 RX-3 had a street port 12A.
This is why I live on the left side of the pond. I did some work on a 78 right hand drive from Japan. While tuning I kept drifting towards the center of the road. Does it freak you guys out when you go from RHD to LHD?!

Re: new member
Weirdest thing I found about driving LHD cars was that the gear gate wasn't reversed. Dunno why, for some reason my pea brain thought everything ought to be back to front.
...well, that and all the maniacs driving on the wrong side of the road

Actually, I really dont understand how you can change gears with your left hand?!?!?!

Re: new member
Exactly! I had so much trouble shifting! I had to consciously think about it - after starting out in 3rd a few times.re japi wrote:Actually, I really dont understand how you can change gears with your left hand?!?!?!![]()
More pictures. Stock 6pt, Racing Beat Dellorto, exhaust, etc. It also has line lock. I heard there was a burnout contest with a $100 prize (current conversion approx 74 EUR) so I put on an old set of tires and went.
I wasn't done yet but the event organizers asked me to stop. I assumed that meant that I won the contest. Nope, I got 2nd place. First place was a bike and his many friends stuffed the ballot box for him.
