just refitting the wiper linkage to my elford but need some new nuts, think they are M14
but very fine thread, anyone know what pitch they are

I'd agree with M14, pitch measures up as 1.0, but the nut is thinner than a half nut.

yes you are right they are M14x1
unfortunately no one seams to stock them but will keep looking
