We all are aware that our cars by virtue of the engine are not renown for their fuel efficiency so I have been monitoring mine. A trip to RRG & back was a good journey to find out what I am getting.
The trip was mostly motorway except J6 to Shelsley Walsh, in Total 322mls. I used 12.3 gals (56 ltr) -:- 4.55 = 26.1 mpg which at a steady speed of ?? mph. Much better than I thought, FB is about 30+

26.1 is pretty good for a 13B Turbo I reckon. it's been a long time since I worked out my consumption in a FB but I seem to remember it was low to mid 20's :?

Impressive. I remember being appalled by the fuel consumption of my S5 turbo back home. This was compared to a 12a bridge port on a Nikki with mechanical secondaries which meant I could cruise round on primaries all day so I could return 30 mpg without too much trouble (but not a lot of excitement).
Maybe an o2 sensor was bad or some such thing on my FC? You should be well pleased with your result.

When I daily drive my t2 cab I recall 20-25mpg average from it including short journeys. The fb was similar, the FD was 12-18mpg though....

How would you know if its using more if you do not know what is normal? :geek:
Just another bit of information on driving habits/engine health/tuning always handy for owners/new owners as a bench mark.
As someone once said......."You do not know what you don't know until you know it" rdg
