Hello

I have a C reg RX7 Fb thats has suffered fire damage due to a work shop fire, the damage is front end only.

The car has covered 55,000 miles only and was a very clean and tidy car before the fire with great body work and strong engine. I'm not sure the extent of the damage under the bonnet.

The full interior is very good.

Would it be wiser to break the car rather than hope for a sale ?

Hiya mate,

it depends really on the extent of the fire damage but as a general rule, these cars fetch more money complete, even as a project or requiring total restoration than they do when broken for spares.
There are only just over 200 of these cars left in the UK so the demand and market for second hand parts is negligable really.
Don't be swayed by the prices some sellers are asking on ebay for the parts.... most have been hawking the same bits on there for 2 years with no luck.
Your best bet is to post some photos on here and the guys will give you a guide of what it's realistically worth.... or if you really would be better off breaking it.

Ian

And if I could ask you very nicely, could I have the Reg please. Then I can see if it's on my register - and if you do break it I can show it accordingly.

They're getting scarce now, but as Ian says, we know where all the bits are that have been for sale for yonks.

The registration is C765 BYR Richard Knight Cars Ltd

Thanks Mate, I had it listed, a Red S3 in the South East. Is it still in that rough location?
I hadn't got that it was originally a Richard Knight supplied car. Duly noted.

Did it have a TWR or similar body kit?

Ta Codge.

Hi mate,
sorry to hear about the fire damage that is gutting as looks great in the pics. I don't want to sound like a vulture or anything but as the damage is only at the front and if the car is going to be broken and scrapped??? I might be interested in the rest of the shell without the doors, wings, front end etc as I may need a rear deck for my project. If that is solid under the spoiler and around the hatch etc I could be interested.
Sorry again dude.
