JDM Combe, Sat 9th July 2022, Mazda Rotary Engine 55th celebration

I have been working with the RX-8 OC team, the organisers at JDM Combe and Mazda UK to do something a bit special in 202, on the 55th anniversary of the Cosmo 110 becoming available in the UK.

We are inviting all Mazda Rotary clubs to come along to make this the biggest gathering of Mazda Rotaries we've seen for a while.

There will be a massive RX-8 OC stand, with over 50 cars (so far!) planning to attend - and it's early days yet!.

We would love other clubs to either:
  • Co-locate their own "branded" club stand in a "village" of Mazda Rotary club stands, or
  • Join the cars on the RX-8 OC stand if they prefer
The plans for the event are still being finalised, but we hope to:
  • Have a timeline static display of one example of as many different Mazda Rotary models as possible from the Cosmo 110 to the RX-8 R3.
  • Hold a parade around the circuit of as many Mazda Rotaries as we can manage, with a tannoy commentary.
  • Have a couple of Mazda Rotary exclusive track sessions.
Mazda UK will be bringing along some of the cars from their Heritage Museum and possibly an MX-30 Rotary Range Extender pre-production model plus a possible surprise vehicle (awesome if it comes off, and not to ne missed if it does!).

Once we can see the level of interest, we can decide if we want our own rx7fb.com stand, or simply add our cars onto the RX-8 OC stand (as we have done at Beaulieu a few times).

So who's interested in making this the biggest rotary gathering for a long time in the UK?

Just post up in here and I'll add your name to this list in the first post

It's a lovely area of the country, I'm going to try to persuade my wife to come along with me and stay around the area for a few days too.
