1st Gen Register .... another new chapter

After sterling work by both Codge and Ian65, I have now picked up the mantle to maintain the 1st Gen register. Ian has passed this responsibility on to me and I only hope I can build on their work and maintain it accurately, as it contains a wealth of detailed information.

To commence the task, I publish here a list of last known locations of all 1st Gens, whatever status they hold; SORN, taxed or whatever. For each of these cars the register contains an great deal more data, such as reg number and, in some cases, owner's details, lastest known mileage, photos and other data.

There are bound to be errors or updates required. If you can post up in here, or PM me with any amendments I will ensure these are entered onto the register.

Cheers for taking on the register Malc, not an easy task to keep up with cars! I could go through some of the ones I know about but I'll leave it for now incase the owners post themselves, but if I do I'll PM you, not post about other people's cars publicly.

#54 yellow S3 is mine, located in Gloucestershire, Sorned awaiting rebuild.

#79&80 black and white S3s, also in gloucestershire now. White is on the road, and used regularly, black sorned awaiting bodywork.

Can't see it on your list but I have GFP 450V orange S1 1979
don't think it's #43 S1, that will be a different car.
it is taxed and on the road now after I rebuilt it
I bought it in 2021
Last on road in 2008 before me, but was raced until around 2009ish maybe a bit later, then retired, and stripped down to a bare shell, even glass and roll cage removed.
it was owned by Tony Ellis before me who campaigned it in various championships, HSCC 70s roadsports, CTCRC, and Toyo tires racing saloons. He won the Toyo Tires championsip in the car in 2009 I think it was.
I think it was factory green, or at least some of the panels on it are green on the back before I painted them.
it was yellow up to around 2007
originally built for racing in around 94-95, was racing for 96 season for sure, possibly earlier.

I also have a couple of number plates from dead cars, I'll have to check the numbers, I got parts from people who'd broken them.

Thanks James, I'll update those details before the next issue

I have already started to check reg numbers on the MOT and DVLA sites and there are a lot of updates required. It'll get done a bite at a time!

Important thing is, there is a solid base of data, just in need of checking/updating.

Hi Malcolm.
As you know I purchased Elford Turbo JAZ 5127 about 3 years ago. It now resides in Essex. I couldn't recognise it on the current register.
I also still own C967BKR and the restorer currently has a warrant outstanding for his arrest for theft of my vehicle. Pretty sure I will never see it again

Hi Kevin. I've now realised it is very difficult to link the cars in the "Area" listing, as published above, with the cars full listing on the database. Codge, bless him, was so keen to ensure that the cars could not be identified easily from the listing (for security reasons) that I am finding it very hard too  . I even had trouble finding my 2 FB's from the area listing!

I've decided to do a methodical update. I will go through the individual (private) car details (some of which are well out of date), update them where I can, then completely refresh the area listing at the end. I have already added an "anonymous" ID to each car in the database, so I can easily link the "private" car data to the "public " area listing. This might take some time, but I have made a start :)

Hi Malcolm,
You are doing a fine job.
I must admit I was surprised Ian sold his car and stepped away from his role as the Guru of the forum

Hi Malcolm, My RX7 Mk 1 YVB 666V listed in Kent has now been sold and has moved to a dealer in Faringdon Oxfordshire so no longer in the South East, that also brings my Title of being the longest Owner of an RX7 in the UK to an end after 42yrs! :( Good luck with the updated list

Sorry to hear you no longer have the car Lee, but many thanks for the update. I have just made the amendments to the register
